Organized by the French Institute in Indonesia, the 7th Printemps Français in Jakarta takes place in twelve different locations around the capital city, and offers concerts, exhibitions, and live performances from May 7 to July 24, 2011.
This year’s edition of the festival has three main objectives. First and foremost, it hopes to highlight a European perspective, notably by celebrating Europe Day on May 9. It also puts a strong emphasis on music, by showcasing a large scope of French musical productions ranging from jazz to electronic music, rock, or hip-hop. Fashion design, circus acts, and gastronomy which are notorious French cultural assets will complement this rich programme of events.
Works by Indonesian artists have also been commissioned to appear throughout the various exhibitions due to take place at the festival.
