cnspafAs a major part of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF) for 15 years, China Shanghai International Performing Arts Fair (ChinaSPAF) has become the most effective international event so far ever held in China, connecting producers and artists of arts festivals, arts centers, theaters, performing companies, agencies and so on in China, Asia-Pacific region as well as other parts of the world. Having been successfully held for 14 years in a row, ChinaSPAF has been highly acclaimed from home and abroad and has become one of the significant platforms for international performing arts sector counterparts to get access to the Chinese market. Registration is open for ChinaSPAF which runs October 17-21 2013 The International Festival Forum on the theme of Inclusiveness, Openness and Innovation takes place over the same period with many speakers including important international festival directors. Since 1999, more than 1000 units including arts festivals, theaters, agencies, performing groups and professionals from about 100 countries and regions have attended ChinaSPAF. Many first-class performing companies, well-known masters and artists such as Berliner Philharmoniker, Christoph Eschenbach, James Galway, Sara Baras have made cooperation with CSIAF via this platform and entered into Chinese market. On the other hand, many outstanding Chinese programs including the Revenge of Prince Zi Dan by Shanghai Peking Opera Troupe, Sichuan Chinese folk music troupe Beauty & Melody Orchestra, Inner Mongolia band Anda Union stepped into the international market through ChinaSPAF as well. Established in 1999, the China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF) is a state-level annual international arts festival hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and undertaken by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.
