Tara Books in Chennai, India has been awarded the inaugural BOP Best Children's Publishers Award for Asia at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2013. Tara Books has received many awards for its innovative content, beautiful design and high quality handmade books.

To mark the 50th anniversary Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2013, BolognaFiere and AIE - Italian Publishers Association launched a new initiative to pay tribute to excellence in the world of children’s publishing: BOP - Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the year.

In France, the French edition of Drawing from the City (published by Actes Sud) was awarded the inaugural 2013 Fifi Brindacier Prize for Promoting Sexual Equality.

An exhibition at Tara's innovative Book Building in Chennai runs until 29 June 2013.  Made by Hand: Book Craft & Artisanship explores and reveals the secrets of Tara’s now world famous handmade bookmaking process.
