The Seventh UNESCO Creative Cities Network Annual General Meeting took place in Bologna, Italy (designated UNESCO Creative City of Music in 2006), from 18 to 21 September 2013.

The main goals of the meeting were to:

  • share experiences and improve capacity building;

  • exchange updated information on each city’s activities;

  • discuss the Network’s communication strategy and operations;

  • agree upon matters related to future governance and development of the Network.

In particular, Member Cities discussed and finalized the new Creative Cities nomination procedures.

A special event open to the public, “Creativity at work", took place on Saturday 21, bringing together institutions and professionals from the creative industries and cultural sector.

Past Creative Cities general meetings have been held in Paris (UNESCO HQ, 2008), Santa Fe (2008), Lyon (2009), Shenzhen (2010), Seoul (2011), Montréal (2012).

The next meetings of the network are scheduled in 2014 in Chengdu (designated UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy) and in 2015 in Kanazawa (designated UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art)
