As a first step to creating dance productions with artists from 16 Asian countries, the Asian Dance Committee in Korea announces an International Choreography Competition | Plan for Asian Dance Productions.

The Asian Dance Committee was officially founded by 16 Asian countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and Korea in June 2011 to preserve and develop Asian dance heritage and promote cultural exchange among artists.

Choreographers of any nationality, age and gender may apply with a plan that can be developed into a feature-length show of around 60 minutes, referring to one or more of the following themes:

  • Choreography Plan that expresses the value of Asian culture

  • Choreography Plan based on Asian narratives including myths or tales

  • Choreography Plan that utilizes various traditional dances of Asia


Applicants are invited to check the FULL GUIDELINES for submission and note that entries sent from outside Korea must respect the earlier deadline of 28 October (postmark).
