Celebrating 40 years of EU-China relations, the ‘China Unlimited’ creative contest is designed to encourage people from across the EU to share their experiences and visions of China.  Contribute your creative vision and you have a chance to win a trip to China.

Anyone from any EU country can grab a pen, paintbrush or camera and express their thoughts on ‘China Unlimited’. The contest has four categories: essay, photo, fine arts and videoGet in touch with your creativity and send us your best contributions!

All eligible contributions will be published on the website and viewers will be able to vote for their favourite work and decide on the shortlist for the big prize. In addition to prizes for the first 100 submissions received, the best contributions of each category will win a trip to China!

Eligibility: Open to citizens of the 28 EU member states. Participants under 18 years of age (on the closing date of the competition) must have the approval of their parents or guardian to enter the competition. Shortlisted candidates under 18 years of age will be required to submit a completed and signed parental consent form in order to qualify for consideration by the final panel of judges.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries in each of the four categories (essay, photography, fine art and video).

The prize in each category consists of a 10-day trip to China, including return airfare, visit programme, accommodation and meals. Participants under 18 years of age may be awarded an alternative prize.

Deadline: 31 August (date extended!)




'China Unlimited’ is a joint project of the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the European Union and Atlas International Culture (AIC) in collaboration with the College of Europe.

The 40th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic ties celebrated this year is a valuable opportunity to look to the future and deepen our cooperation, which also means developing our cultural understanding. Throughout 2015 in Brussels, you will be able to discover the very best of Chinese culture: ping pong, qi gong, Chinese film, opera, and much more. The ‘China Unlimited’ competition is just one of many ways to take part in the celebrations!
