Latvia | Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre – Plein Air painting call

Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre in Latvia invites artists to apply for the International Painting Plein Air ‘Valdis Bušs 2022’. Six professional artists will be selected for the residency 11–22 July 2022.

As part of the artists' residency programme of the Mark Rothko Art Centre, the Plein Air draws on the artistic heritage of the local master landscape painter Valdis Bušs. The initiative explores the artistically stimulating town of Viļaka and aims to supplement the collection of the future Valdis Bušs Art Center.

The residency offers:

• Return travel expenses Riga to Viļaka
• Living costs (meals and a hotel) 
• Work premises 
• Materials and tools 
• Publicity 
• Recreation facilities, tours around the region and cultural visits 
• Final exhibition

NB: Selected artists must cover their own travel costs to Riga, and are asked to donate two artworks at the end of the residency.
