Script Pitch 2020 - interfilm's International Competition for Short Scripts

Applications invited for Script Pitch 2020 in Berlin. The International Script Pitch is part of interforum, the fringe program for professional visitors and film enthusiasts at interfilm Berlin. The program invites the authors of innovative short films to Berlin to work on their screenplays and pitch them in a competition in front of an international jury after an intensive week of workshops and coaching. 

We are currently planning an amazing 8th edition of the Script Pitch from 10th-14th November 2020. Nevertheless the global pandemic and health regulations may lead us to explore digital solutions for the Script Pitch as well as the Script Lab to ensure its internationality and to keep it open and accessible to filmmakers and writers from every continent. If onsite, online or through a combination, the team will ensure the best version of the Script Pitch and we are already working on smart digital solutions to be prepared for a great hybrid edition!

We’re looking for captivating screenplays and pitches for short films that blow us away!

As of now, all script writers and writer-directors are welcome to apply with their script and treatment  for the 8th international Script Pitch competition at the 36th International Short Film Festival interfilm Berlin. Eight contestants will be selected to participate in the competition.

Be part of an inspiring 4-days Script Lab incl. a Pitch Training and informal meet & greet opportunities for film professionals.

Program

In addition to the Script Pitch competition all participants are provided with a Script Lab to accompany the competition from 10th until 14th November 2020. Within the practical and stimulating workshop program there will be both a seminar on script development to sharpen the participants’ creative skills and a pitch training to evaluate the live performance of each contestant by industry experts.

Script Pitch participants will be given the opportunity to meet international filmmakers, writers and industry experts at exclusive networking events at the International Short Film Festival interfilm Berlin.

On 14th November 2020 the eight finalists will have 5 minutes to pitch their projects and convince the international jury of their idea.

To maximize the interlinking of creative and industry professionals in an open forum – and to party on - the competitors, the jury and the audience are invited for our interforum Drinks on the afternoon of the competition.

The entire competition will be held in English.
