Spain | FiraTàrrega 2014 | street theatre participation opportunities

FiraTàrrega is the international market for performing arts that takes place every year in Tàrrega, Catalonia, Spain. For the 2014 market (11-14 September 2014) there are currently three open calls for participation.

Please note the different deadlines for the calls and check application guidelines.

1. Participation in the Official Programme [deadline: 15 January]

Professional companies that are interested in submitting a proposal to participate in the FiraTàrrega 2014 Official Programme can send the documentation (project + technical sheet+ DVD or link to Youtube or Vimeo + contact details) until 15 January 2014

2. Participation in Creation Labs [deadline: 15 December]

The Creation Lab is an annual FiraTàrrega competition that has the objective of encouraging the production of street performances. It is intended for new artists, emerging talents and experienced professionals that are beginning a business project that is interested in producing shows for an urban setting. It is designed for companies, circus artists or creators, dance or theatre, with administrative residence in Catalonia.

The 2014 edition will show special attention to projects involving movement performances (in cooperation with Graner) and walkabouts. A maximum of three laboratories will be chosen that will have a € 3,000 grant and each will have a 2x2 booth in La Llotja de FiraTàrrega for promoting their show.

FiraTàrrega offers companies their infrastructure so they can carry out their creations in the best conditions; enjoying counselling, logistical, technical and promotional support.

Professional companies that are interested in the Lab in Tàrrega can send the documentation (dossier detailing the project + budget + production schedule + company CV + contact details) until 15 December 2013.

3. Creative Residency in Tàrrega [deadline: 15 December]

By means of the Creative Residencies, FiraTàrrega offers companies their infrastructure so they can carry out their creations in the best conditions; enjoying counselling, logistical, technical and promotional support. See document.

Founded in 1981, FiraTàrrega is a great shop window of what is going on in performing arts, with special emphasis on street arts, visual and unconventional shows. As a meeting place and an international point of reference for debate, the main objective of FiraTàrrega is to boost the performing arts market, opening the door to the internationalisation of the companies.

Other more specific objectives are the accompaniment and promotion of creations by emergent artists, encouraging training, focused on artistic creation and culture management and on generating strategic alliances to develop transnational street art circuits or productions.
