Each year, the Karlovy Vary IFF presents approx. 200 films from all over the world. Apart from the films in the special retrospectives, the films were produced during the past year and many of them are screened as World, International or European premieres. Once again this year, audiences will enjoy interesting retrospectives and focuses in addition to the traditional program sections.

The 49th Karlovy Vary IFF will take place from July 4 to July 12, 2014. 

For the first time, Greece and Turkey will be included in the East of the West competition, which now invites submissions of first and second films from Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Turkey, and the countries of the former Soviet Union.

The films selected for the 49th Karlovy Vary IFF will be announced in June 2014.
