State Bank Museum

The State Bank of Pakistan Museum was established with the primary aim of establishing the first money museum of Pakistan with 4 underlying objectives:

1. To preserve the cultural heritage of the old colonial State Bank of Pakistan Building; 
2. Provide an opportunity for people to learn about the history of the building, the evolution of money, coins and the evolving monetary policy in this part of the world; 
3. Encourage the development of artistic talent in the country and;
4. Establish a tradition of cultural exchange with other museums around the world.

The museum aims to become a living, interactive state of art and knowledge institution for the benefit of the public and to preserve the history of coinage and the State Bank of Pakistan. It seeks to create standards of service for society for educating youth, and increase awareness of the common man through regular displays and special exhibitions and events.
