6th Asian Museum Curator's Conference | Bangalore
India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) is pleased to announce that it is hosting the 6th Asian Museum Curator’s Conference (AMCC) in October this year. The four-day conference initiated by The Japan Foundation will be held in Bangalore from 19 – 22 October 2010 (including a site visit to New Delhi on the 19th of October). The Asian Museum Curators’ Conference began in 2006, spearheaded by The Japan Foundation. Previous AMCCs have taken place in Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia with participants from museums across Asia. The AMCC has been a platform for networking and exchanges amongst participants in discussions on museology, curatorial practice, conservation, collection policies and other issues in Asian art discourses. In recent years, the AMCC has also extended its reach of participants to include arts practitioners and curators outside the institutional framework. Participating institutions are requested to recommend young curators or young museum professionals prepared to contribute in terms of professional and research interests, and ready to network for future projects or collaborations. The Japan Foundation and IFA will not be able to cover any expense except for those specific local costs stated in the Conference Outline and Logistics. See website for the Conference programme and pdf. concept note on the theme “Curatorship:From Empire to Republic”. Participants should send the pdf. Acceptance of Invitation Form to the organisers by 31 August 2010. Japanese participants: see website for contact details to confirm attendance.Similar content
