Denmark | yes – dance biennale 2026
yes – dance biennale is a new, large-scale dance biennale taking place for the first time from 26 to 30 August 2026.
The biennale unfolds across the city, on established stages, in smaller studios, and in Copenhagen’s public spaces, inviting audiences into a programme of performances, talks, workshops, events, and artistic encounters that showcase the full artistic and formal range of dance.
The biennale is created with a clear aim: to unite forces across the dance and performing arts field and to build a shared platform that taps into the momentum dance is experiencing right now, both nationally and internationally.
yes – dance biennale 2026 is the result of a new collaboration between Dansehallerne, København Danser, Sydhavn Teater, and Dansk Danseteater, who together develop the format and programme and create a dance celebration that reaches beyond any single institution. The ambition is to forge new connections between artists, institutions, and audiences and to contribute to a long-term strengthening of the field, so that Copenhagen becomes even more of a destination for dance at the highest level.
yes – dance biennale takes place every two years and will, over time, grow and expand with more partners and collaborators.
