Cultural Connections UK–Finland partnership
The Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland, together with the British Embassy in Helsinki, has announced the launch of Cultural Connections – Emerging Creative Professionals’ Partnership, a new pilot initiative designed to strengthen cultural exchange and support emerging artists and cultural professionals in between the United Kingdom and Finland.
In response to the growing need for support in mobility opportunities and cultural exchange, the pilot aims to reinvigorate international collaboration by offering UK-based artists new opportunities to connect with Finland’s arts scene.
The initiative will include an open call for artists to take part in exchange activities with Finnish venues, festivals and creative organisations, building bridges and fostering shared learning between the UK and Finland’s cultural sectors.
The Cultural Connections pilot seeks to empower artists at the early stages of their careers to broaden their international networks, gain professional experience and contribute to a vibrant exchange between two innovative cultural landscapes.
Funding can be for the following costs:
- Reasonable travel costs (i.e flights, trains)
- Reasonable accommodation costs (i.e hotels, Airbnb)
- Green mobility top-up (extra funding needed for more sustainable travel)
This is a pilot mobility scheme running until 31 March 2026, all project related travel must have been completed by this date.
