Indonesia | ASEAN Artists Residency for Myanmar artists

 

The ASEAN Secretariat is inviting Myanmar artists to participate in the ASEAN Artists Residency Programme (AARP), between 1 – 31 October 2026 (TBC) in Jakarta, Indonesia. The programme is designed to explore ASEAN identities and deepen mutual understanding across diverse global cultures.

Under this programme, the selected artist will produce one original artwork during the one-month residency period, which will be donated to the ASEAN Gallery’s permanent collection. The artist is expected to work in a studio format and participate in activities and events organised by ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Secretariat.

At a minimum, the artist must produce a painting in acrylic, batik, Chinese brush, collage, crayon, ink, mixed media, oil, watercolour, or any other media. Collages, two-dimensional embossed paintings, and three-dimensional paintings are also acceptable. Other mediums may be acceptable subject to selection committee approval.
