Portugal | Imaginarius 2027 art in public space

Imaginarius 2027, a festival of performing arts in public space, is calling for proposals across the fields of theatre, dance, music, circus, performance, intervention, installation, new media, and multidisciplinary practices for the 2027 edition, 21–23 May in Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal.

Each selected project will be presented between 3 and 5 times during the festival period.

Eligibility

This open call is open to national and international artists, collectives, and organisations working within the field of artistic creation in public space at different stages of their trajectory, including emerging artists and early-career creators.

Proposals are accepted from projects that combine languages and explore non-conventional formats. Particular value is given to proposals that incorporate a performative component.

Projects that have already premiered or are in an advanced stage of development are eligible, provided they present clear conditions for presentation within the festival context.

Support

  • 150 EUR per person, per performance during the festival;
  • 200 EUR per person, per programming day in the case of installations.
  • A fixed contribution towards travel costs (150 EUR per person to 1,200 EUR per person, for projects originating from other countries)
