Wanderlust Indonesia 2026
Wanderlust Festival, 23–30 August 2026 in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, under the theme ‘The Listening Forest’, is calling for applications from national, and international artists working in the field of performing arts for children and young audiences.
Wanderlust Festival is a touring theatre initiative developed through a collaboration between ASSITEJ Mongolia, ASSITEJ Nepal, and TAMASJA-ASSITEJ Indonesia, as part of a regional programme by ASSITEJ International co-funded by the European Union.
Wanderlust Indonesia is a community-driven celebration that, through artistic exchange, collaborative creation, and touring performances, creates meaningful connections between artists and communities.
Participating artists may join one of the following festival tracks:
- Community Collaboration Programme (where artists will live and work alongside local residents for 4–5 days, engaging in cultural exchange and collaborative artistic creation)
- Touring Performance Programme (where artists will present performances for children and young audiences through a series of tours to schools, community spaces, and cultural venues across Palangka Raya)
Selected artists may be invited to perform their work up to 5 times during the festival. The festival is particularly looking for performances that are: compact and easy to set up and dismantle; adaptable to both indoor and outdoor environments; able to function with minimal technical requirements; flexible enough to respond to different performance spaces and weather conditions.
Applications are open to individual artists or groups of up to 3 members.
