Bangkok International Film Festival


Held yearly in January or February in Bangkok, Thailand

Categories: International Competition, Asean Competition, Asian Short Films Competition, New Voices (for 1st or 2nd time feature directors), Documentaries Competition


Requirements: entries should have been produced within the last 18 months


Awards: Competition for locally produced digital films with cash awards


Fee: US$65, free from ASEAN films



Co-organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the private American company, Festival Management, Bangkok International Film Festival will host its fifth edition in 2007.


The event presents an exciting programme of world-class films, informative workshops, master classes, symposiums, special tributes, the Bangkok Film Market (BFM), and, of course, the spectacular special events for which Thailand has become so well known to the viewing public.


Associated with the festival, the Thai Film Foundation, a respected non-profit assembly working to promote Thai film studies and classic film preservation, is assisting Thai shorts, Asian film and documentary programmes.
