i-Portunus Houses publications on mobility in culture

The European Cultural Foundation, MitOst and Kultura Nova Foundation have published an overview on research on mobility in culture, in four interconnected volumes.

The publications emerge from the project "i-Portunus Houses – Kick-Start a Local Mobility Host Network for Artists & Cultural Professionals in All Creative Europe Countries", dedicated to testing and analysing diverse transnational mobility schemes for the cultural sector.

The four interconnected volumes include:

  • Conceptual framework of mobility in culture
  • The study on mobility in culture from the perspectives of artists, cultural professionals, hosts and funders
  • An evaluation of i-Portunus Houses mobility grant scheme
  • Scenario for the future of mobility in culture

The four-volume publication was edited by Nancy Duxbury and Dea Vidović, and involved experts from different disciplines (including Tsveta Andreeva, Marta Jalšovec, Ana Žuvela, Petra Rodik, Toni Attard, Vedran Horvat and the Institute for political ecology).

ASEF Culture360 editor collaborated with On The Move to contribute an article for Volume 1, ‘Mobility in Culture: Conceptual Frameworks and Approaches’. This piece addresses different aspects of mobility in culture, highlighting current thinking and perspectives and suggesting the main challenges for the future.
