Appeal for help from UNESCO and ICCROM

UNESCO AND ICCROM has sent out an appeal for museums to answer to participate in their survey. Their appeal is found here: Museum collections are at serious risk An estimated 60% of the world's collections in storage are inaccessible and deteriorating rapidly.  UNESCO and ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property) has been working in partnership since 2007 to develop preventive conservation tools for collections storage and documentation. We are now launching a worldwide appeal to collect more information about museum collections at risk in storage. Kindly disseminate this message to as many museums in your network as possible to ensure an accurate portrayal of the situation. The survey only takes 10 minutes to fill out.(http://museumstorage.questionpro.com/).  UNESCO and ICCROM need your help to collect more information on this topic. If you work in a museum, take 10 minutes to answer this survey for the chance to win a one-year subscription to UNESCO's Museum International magazine: http://museumstorage.questionpro.com (answers are confidential).
