Art Central Hong Kong
Art Central Hong Kong is an exciting new art fair, showcasing the next generation of talent alongside established contemporary galleries and art spaces from across the globe. It debuts 14-16 March 2015, to coincide with Art Basel Hong Kong. Check out the Art Central exhibiting galleries Timed to coincide with Hong Kong Art Week, which attracts more than 65,000 fairgoers, Art Central offers international collectors and curators as well as art enthusiasts and visitors an opportunity to experience a world-class satellite fair during the most dynamic week in the international art calendar. There are a number of other art events off-site of Art Central and Art Basel Hong Kong worth a look:- Para Site: A Hundred Years of Shame – Songs of Resistance and Scenarios for Chinese Nations is the inaugural exhibition in Para Site's new home in North Point/Quarry Bay. Including artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China and beyond, it wants to revisit a disobedient intellectual spirit under the current social and ideological conditions in the region. Exhibition runs March 6 - May 10
- Mobile M+ Moving Images: M+’s first moving image focused project and a part of the museum’s ongoing pre-opening public programme series Mobile M+, Mobile M+: Moving Images will present a diverse range of works in various formats and mediums, from feature films and documentaries to artist films/videos, installations, and photography and beyond to visualise the transitional, and at times transformative, experiences of today’s mobile societies. Exhibition runs 27 February - 26 April
- Inside China: Dedicated to the discovery and presentation of emerging art scenes in China and France, a long-term collaboration between K11 Art Foundation and Palais de Tokyo is inaugurated with the exhibition Inside China – L’Intérieur du Geant. This exhibition was first exhibited at Palais de Tokyo last year in October, and it is rotated to Hong Kong this year with two new participated artists; in which it presents six Chinese artists in dialogue with five French artists. Exhibition runs 11 March - 3 May
- Stationary: For Stationary, at Spring Workshop, a new collection of stories published by Spring to be launched in 2015, co-editors Heman Chong and Christina Li invite artists, curators and writers to take stock of, chart and elaborate on their obsessions, fascinations and influences.
