ArTech: An interdisciplinary project between Asia and Europe
As part of the EUNIC project “arTech – imagining our future” 8 European and 8 local art students from Silpakorn University International College (Thailand) that have a focus on arts, technology and digital art worked together in intercultural pairs to co-create artworks.
The students’ artistic work was inspired by the life and traditions of the Nang Loeng Community in Bangkok, which the students discovered through a walking tour and workshop organised by members of the Nang Loeng Community.
Their work, a fusion of art, technology, and digital media, explored the impact of technology on future generations. The students’ artworks were exhibited at Bangkok 1899 from 17 to 30 November 2023, showcasing a blend of creativity and cultural diversity.
Documentary of the arTech project can be viewed here, which explores how the Nang Loeng Community inspired the students’ artwork as well as detailing their experience working in intercultural pairs.
This project was a collaboration between the EUNIC Bangkok cluster, Silpakorn University International College and Bangkok 1899. Read more about the arTech project here.
