Busan and Venice to support Asian Micro Budget Film

acfBusan International Film Festival’s Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) has collaborated with Venice Film Festival’s Biennale College Cinema to jointly support an Asian Micro Budget Film project. The selected Asian project will receive a €150,000 production award from the Biennale College Cinema as well as the post-production support from ACF, covering the entire creation process of its film project.

The Biennale College Cinema, in its second edition, is a unique initiative to support the development and production of micro budget audio visual works. It seeks teams that should consist of emerging director at his/her debut or second film and a producer who has completed at least 3 audiovisual products distributed and/or presented at festivals. The Biennale College Cinema accepts applications until Wednesday, July 10.

Twelve micro-budget projects will be selected to participate in a 10-day workshop in October 2013. Following the completion of the workshop, 3 projects will be selected to participate in a subsequent workshop. The 3 successful films will receive a €150,000 production award and will be presented at the 2014 Venice Film Festival. The 3 projects from 2012 have been completed and are waiting to premiere at the 2013 Venice Film Festival this August.
