Chester Beatty Library is looking for a Head of Development (Dublin)

Chester Beatty Library Head of Development The Chester Beatty Library, Dublin, an ASEMUS member, has recently advertised for the post of Head of Development. The primary responsibility of this role will be to increase revenue for the Chester Beatty Library through philanthropic investments. Duties of the post-holder will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy for the Library.
  • Actively identify and cultivate new support and relationships at local, national and international level while sustaining the Library's existing base of donors and sponsors.
  • Research and draft applications to foundations, trusts, individuals and corporations for support for the Library's work.
  • With the Membership Officer, conduct a complete review of the Chester Beatty Membership Programme, with a view to further development and expansion.
  • Liaise continuously with the Director and Management Team to identify opportunities to promote and publicise the Library with a view to engaging donors and sponsors.
  • Perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time by the Director as appropriate to this position.
Required skills include the following:
  • An experienced professional, ideally with a background in arts/culture and at least five years' relevant work experience at an equivalent level.
  • Highly motivated and determined, with a proven track record in development roles including the ability to demonstrate previous success in programme fundraising, capital building programmes and collections endowment.
  • A great communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excited by the opportunity to work with the Chester Beatty Library team and the collections with the ability to attract support from a range of sources.
  • Comfortable navigating different cultures.
