Chiang Mai | Thai Ink - Japanese Paper | printmaking exhibition
Baan Tuek Art Center in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, presents Thai Ink | Japanese Paper, a creative collaboration between CAP Studio and Awagami Factory, with an exhibition of works by five of Thailand's finest printmakers, running 5-28 July.In the spirit of cooperation + friendship, Awagami Factory, Japan and C.A.P Studio, Thailand collaborate on this exhibition spotlighting 5 of Thailand’s finest printmakers. The works represent a creative cross-section of today’s spirited Thai printmaking community. With varied aesthetics from minimal to allegorical, it is the organisers' hope that this exhibition raises awareness of the deep creativity to be found in Thailand today.
All prints have been editioned at C.A.P studio exclusively on Awagami Factory’s washi papers. The exhibition will travel from Chiang Mai to Bangkok + Japan
For nearly 300 years and 8 generations, Awagami Factory has been making Japan’s finest washi papers and supporting artists worldwide. Awagami is proud to have their papers now available in Thailand.
Since 2004, C.A.P has been an important part of Chiang Mai’s art community. For those wishing to source prints by both Thai & International artists or for anyone interested in fine art printmaking, C.A.P studio doors are always open. Baan Tuek provides exhibition space for artists and serves as a public activity center. Baan Tuek is donated by Suthep Co. ltd. and is former residence of L. Anusarnsunthorn.
