Course: "The Making of Exhibitions"

In the context of its international training courses, the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) in London, UK, an ASEMUS member, will host a new course entitled "The Making of Exhibitions" on 29 January - 2 February 2018. This new course is aimed at museum professionals looking to broaden and deepen their knowledge of producing temporary exhibitions, both headline shows and small-scale displays. Based on the successful Continuing Professional Development course "How to Organise an Exhibition", "The Making of Exhibitions" will cover a wide range of practical aspects associated with developing a temporary exhibition, from concept stage to delivery. With presentations and workshops from members of the V&A’s Exhibitions Department and colleagues from across the Museum, a range of recent V&A exhibitions will be used as case studies to explore the key elements of managing an exhibition. This will include concept development and the design process through to build and object installation. Likewise, other sessions will focus on how to carry out successful press, marketing and digital campaigns.

  • Increased knowledge and skills in the field of planning, managing and delivery of temporary exhibitions.
