EUNIC launches a mobile 'app' on European Heritage in Thailand
The European Union National Institutes for Culture in Thailand (EUNIC Thailand) is launching a mobile application that explores the rich history of Thai-European heritage. The 'European Heritage Map and Cultural Calendar of Thailand' app includes over 250 sites illustrating the common heritage resulting from centuries of Thai-European interactions. The easy-to-use toolkit provides unique insights in the long and diverse history of Euro-Thai relations sites in Thailand.
The new ‘app’ represents a follow-up project that started with the presentation, in September 2013, of the printed ‘European Heritage Map of Bangkok and Ayutthaya’, which highlighted 65 sites of shared Thai-European heritage.
This one-stop resource aims to create awareness and appreciation of the long and rich history of Euro-Thai relations - as well as to promote our vibrant cultural exchanges of the present. The free-to-download app is available in English and Thai for iOS and Android and includes also an up-to-date overview of all sort of cultural events supported by the EU's member states (and their cultural institutes) in Thailand.
This ‘app’ is a project of the European Union National Institutes for Culture in Thailand (EUNIC Thailand). The project was funded by the Delegation of the European Union in Thailand and the EUNIC Cluster Fund; as well as the Embassies of Denmark, Italy and the Netherlands; and Alliance Française, Goethe Institut, Instituto Camoes and British Council.
EUNIC Thailand is a network of National Institutes for Culture from the member states of the European Union in Thailand, which aims to contribute to cultural diversity inside and outside of the EU and to strengthen cultural dialogue and exchange.
EUNIC Thailand is part of a global network of over 90 EUNIC clusters present on all continents.
