The future of touring exhibitions: Cultural dialogue survey 2023

Touring Exhibitions Organisation (Teo) is calling for members of the touring exhibitions community to contribute their thoughts and vision of touring in a new international survey.

Following the 2021 Cultural Dialogue Survey on the future of touring exhibitions, Culture Connect and Teo are joining forces again to launch “The Future of Touring Exhibitions – Cultural Dialogue Survey 2023″.

This survey is an inclusive initiative open to all professionals involved in the hosting, touring, production and promotion of cultural exhibitions worldwide at museums, galleries, science centres, exhibition venues, libraries, archives, and gardens.

As anticipated with the previous survey, touring exhibitions have continued despite the challenges of lockdowns, travel bans and growing environmental concerns. Two years on, how has the pandemic, as well as the contemporary crises we have been experiencing since then, really impacted the sector? What new practices and trends are emerging?

As the context of globalisation continues to be put into question, the survey series is designed to map the appetite for cultural dialogue through touring exhibitions, to collectively build an understanding of important future trends and open a dialogue for thinking about and planning for the future of touring exhibitions.

The survey results will be presented by Culture Connect in a report which will be unveiled at Teo Live hosted by Teo in May 2023.

Deadline: 10 March 2023
