The workshop is entitled ‘Learning in Museums’. A number of outstanding international experts will give lectures and conduct discussions on topics such as best practices in developing learning programmes and informal learning, whereas several Chinese experts will showcase education programmes from their museums. Hands-on sessions and excursions are also part of the programme. In this context, ICOM, ICOM China and the Palace Museum will award travel grants to international participants attending the training seminar. Both full and partial grants are available. Candidates should be middle-management staff of ICOM member museums or institutions which have paid their membership dues for 2013 and 2014. They should be fluent in written and spoken English and be aged 45 years or under. Applications should be sent by 19 September. Application forms and additional information are available on ICOM’s website. ICOM-ITC aims to promote research and exchange among museums at an international level and develop the museum expertise of professionals from developing countries, especially those from the Asia-Pacific region.
