
The International Council of Museums’ International Training Centre for Museum Studies (ICOM-ITC), launched in 2013, will hold its
third training workshop in Beijing, China, from 27 October to 4 November 2014.
The workshop is entitled ‘Learning in Museums’. A number of outstanding international experts will give lectures and conduct discussions on topics such as
best practices in developing learning programmes and informal learning, whereas several Chinese experts will
showcase education programmes from their museums. Hands-on sessions and excursions are also part of the programme.
In this context,
ICOM, ICOM China and the Palace Museum will award travel grants to international participants attending the training seminar. Both full and partial grants are available.
Candidates should be
middle-management staff of ICOM member museums or institutions which have paid their membership dues for 2013 and 2014. They should be fluent in written and spoken English and be aged 45 years or under.

ICOM-ITC aims to promote research and exchange among museums at an international level and develop the museum expertise of professionals from developing countries, especially those from the Asia-Pacific region.
