IETM innovate culture policy event on Climate justice
On 25 January 2024 IETM’s will hold its yearly policy event online, which will focus on climate justice and the performing arts while drawing knowledge from the recently released publication Climate Justice: Through the Creative Lens of the Performing Arts.
One of the two authors of the research Jordi Baltà Portolés will be the main speaker of the event and in addition IETM will have several contributions from professionals around the globe, who contributed towards the research. The intention of the event is to reflect together on how the performing arts can – and should – pay more attention to the implications, responsibilities and artistic opportunities of climate justice.
The publication reflects and explores various aspects of climate justice, offers an overview of current literature and shares examples and practices from different contexts through a worldwide peer to peer consultation. The research drew from the key takeaways and discussions of three regional focus groups, including ones taking place in Asia.
- Read IETM's new publication: Climate Justice: Through the Creative Lens of the Performing Arts, which will serve as the main focal point of the event.
- A three-part podcast series around the main themes and discussions drawn from focus groups which served as the main skeleton of research for the publication. Episode one is available to download, and episode two and three will be released in early 2024.
