India Heritage Walk Festival
India Heritage Walk Festival is a month long festival which will cover many cities in India. With its varied line up it aims to focus on the diverse aspects that make up the cultural fabric of the country, such as, food, heritage, nature, and art.
There will be walks, talks & films covering a whole spread of interests and from just about every geographical perspective. Ranging from museums, and historically significant monuments and markets, to explorations of interesting natural landscapes and areas known for its rich cuisine; the program will be curated thematically; focusing on architectural heritage or women’s and gender-related issues, for instance, and with specific user groups in mind, such as students, travellers, corporate teams, and so on.
The aim is to make this festival multi-faceted and inclusive. Different user groups will be targeted by curating tailor-made engagement programmes. This would help in highlighting these issues to institutions, and indicating the need to alter heritage spaces into more inclusive spaces.
With over 45 walks in cities across the country, Sahapedia and Yes Culture aim to make participants rethink and rediscover the ways in which we interact with and imagine our heritage.
This festival will cover 20 cities - Agra, Bikaner, Chennai, Mumbai, Patan, Itanagar, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Jaipur, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Pune, Amritsar, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Varanasi.
