Japanese Film Festival in Bangkok 2014
For over forty years, the Japanese Film Festival in Bangkok has brought the very best of Japanese film to Thailand. For this 2014 edition (20 February to 2 March) , the festival is entirely dedicated to celebrating Japanese animation and features a dazzling range of animated films, past and present, for your viewing pleasure. Screenings will take place in Lido Siam Square,Bangkok and Major Cineplex Fl.4, Central Plaza Chiang Mai Airport, Chiang Mai and the festival is organised by the Japan Foundation, Bangkok. The festival will open with a screening of THE GARDEN OF WORDS, Makoto Shinkai's 2013 anime depicting the romance between a 15 year old boy and a 27 year old woman. Other festival highlights include a short film package and the marvellous, Japanese Academy Award nominated, COLORFUL, Keiichi Hara's adaptation of Eto Mori's novel, which follows the journey of a dead soul given the chance to redeem itself.
