Philippines Green Guide | Launch & Roundtable

culture360.ASEF.org and the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) are organising 'Creative Pathways to Sustainability: Launch and Roundtable on the Green Guide for the Philippines'. 

• Day & Date: Monday, 9 February 2026
• Time: 1 to 3pm (Philippine time)
• Venue: In-person at the University of the Philippines Manila, Museum of a History of Ideas 

'Creative Pathways to Sustainability' will delve deeper into the Green Guide for the Philippines, highlighting significant trends and innovative approaches on the intersections of art, sustainability and the environment in the Philippines. 

Speakers from Philippine-based arts organisations, collectives and academic institutions are also invited to share their lived experience and views on: 

• The realities and challenges of the artistic and environmental landscape in the Philippines
• Facilitating opportunities to work together across sectors, and with those in the peripheral and rural areas  
• Creating dialogue across generations, building upon the experiences of elder knowledge holders and the aspirations of youths 
• How the values of care, community reciprocity and engagement be embedded in the work of those whose artistic practice respond to sustainability challenges? 

These and more will be explored during the event. Join us in-person in Manila!

Speakers
		Dr Diego Maranan Transdisciplinary artist, educator, designer and researcher exploring embodiment, technology, ecology and future imaginaries. He serves as Professor at UPOU's Faculty of Information and Communication Studies.				Dr Maria Lourdes T. Jarabe Social worker, educator, and activist with over 25 years in education, community development, gender advocacy, disability rights, and social protection. She directs UPOU’s Office of Gender Concerns.
		Roselle Pineda Curator, dramaturge, educator, scholar, community worker, and artist-activist. She is the founder and artistic director of Aurora Artist Residency Program and Space (AARPS), a community-based art organisation.				Dr Grace Nono An ethnomusicologist and scholar of Philippine shamanism. She is also the founder of Tao Foundation for Culture and Arts that promotes cultural revitalisation and environmental conservation.
		Ted Villanueva Co-founder of Youth Empowering Youth Initiative (YEY!), and strongly advocates facilitation as a powerful tool for empowering young people to address socio-civic and environmental issues.
