None 3d679eaf5970c11343209bf97f2f95e5d138ef3fFEBRE - Fever exhibition opens at the Museu do Oriente in Lisbon (13 Feb - 27 Apr). Sixty-six works by 15 contemporary artists from Macau are on show, each artist exploring a different expression of painting, sculpture, photography or video. The FEBRE exhibition, commissioned by José Drummond, presents works by James Chu, Lai Sio Kit, Alice Kok, Nick Tai, Eric Fok, Cau Guo Jie, Fortes Pakeong Sequeira, Coke Wong, Hong Wai, Ann Hoi, Julia Lam, Tong Chong, Peng Yun, Lio Hak Man, João Ó. The Museu do Oriente also contains two important permanent collections  of works from Asia. The first collection, alluding to the Portuguese presence in Asia includes over a thousand artistic and documental pieces resulting from acquisitions carried out by the Fundação Oriente practically ever since its foundation in both national and international art markets. The second collection, the Kwok On Collection, resulting from the 1999 donation by the Association do Musée Kwok on, Paris, has over 13,000 pieces related to the performing arts of a geographic area extending from Turkey right across to Japan and to the great narratives and popular religions as well. It includes an important collection of masks from all around Asia, and shadow and puppet theatres from India, China and Indonesia.
