Meeting Point 2022: From Connection to Collaboration | Mekong Cultural Hub
From 20 to 29 October 2022, Mekong Cultural Hub will be hosting the second edition of the Meeting Point on Art & Social Action in Asia.
Through a series of online and in-person programmes, Meeting Point offers spaces for people involved in socially-engaged arts in Asia to discover new friends, exchange ideas and experiences and leave with fresh inspiration for their work.
The theme for this year’s programme is “From Connection to Collaboration”.
As the community of socially-engaged arts practitioners around Asia is growing, why does it matter that we connect? Are we equipped to collaborate effectively?
More than 85 individuals, collectives and organisations have been involved in putting together this year’s program. Highlights include:
- The chance to submit objects and memories to the COVID Time Capsule
- Online trainings and workshops on practical skills including measuring impact in socially engaged arts, fair collaboration and keeping yourself safe when your work in art and social action might put you at risk
- 14 in-person local gatherings in different locations across Asia
- Case studies, lessons learnt and experiences shared by practitioners
- A chance to question how we approach collaboration in our field
- Participatory digital installation, Echoes from the Stars
