MuseumNext is a
global conference series on the future of museums. Since 2009, it has brought together museum leaders from around the world to ask ‘what’s next for museums?’
Following the first MuseumNext event in Australia, held in
Melbourne in February 2017, organisers are now preparing a new three-day event due to be held
in Brisbane on 19-21 March 2018.
MuseumNext Australia will take place in
Brisbane’s culture precinct, which brings together Queensland Museum, Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Queensland Conservatorium and the State Library of Queensland.
The programme of the event includes several
visits and tours of local facilities, as well as
workshops, particularly on the first day. A range of
project presentations, case studies and discussions will be held thereafter, by
speakers from Australia, Canada, France, Mexico, New Zealand, the UK and the US.
Interviews with speakers are regularly presented on
MuseumNext's blog. A full programme is available at
