Music Docu Legend Feted in Barcelona Filmfest

The 9^th edition of Beefeater In-Edit's Barcelona International Music Documentary Festival will pay tribute to Murray Lerner, one of the key figures of American music documentary filmmaking. Ranking alongside docu legends such as D.A. Pennebaker and Albert Maysles, Lerner employed innovative techniques in his work, such as the use of 3D in his landmark 1983 film “Magic Journeys”. In 1967, he earned an Oscar nomination for his film “Festival!”, prefiguring giants in the rock concert genre such as “Monterey Pop” and “Woodstock”.

The festival will run from 27 October to 6 November 2011, alongside the 4-day 2^nd Barcelona International Music Documentary.
