Myanmar, the Country of Gold, joining AFCNet

Myanmar Motion Picture Enterprise (MMPE), Ministry of Information, applied to be a regular member of AFCNet (Asia Film Commissions Network). MMPE is a government agency in charge of the film industry in Myanmar. Its area covers granting licenses for film production to domestic and foreign companies, issuing shooting permissions and censoring scenarios.

MMPE started to connect with AFCNet through Asian Film Policy Forum (Oct, 2011) and ASEAN-ROK Film Community Project: One Asia in Film (Jan. 2012) with its growing interest in expanding network in Asian film industry. AFCNet sees the entry of this new member-country as helping solidify the Asian connection.
