In an effort to shed light upon Korean Studies, the
National Museum of Korea, an ASEMUS member, offers its fourth annual fellowship, entitled the
NMK 2015 Museum Network Fellowship. The programme, initiated in 2012, is
designed to promote the advancement of museum-related Korean studies overseas.
The programme will provide participants with valuable opportunities to
gain field experience in Korean culture through comprehensive lectures on museum-related Korean studies, workshops, research and site visits around the country. Activities in the context of the NMK 2015 Museum Network Fellowship will take place between 28 June and 11 July 2015.
Given the programme’s purpose,
applicants must not be Korean citizens. Candidates should neither hold any relevant previous, concurrent and subsequent fellowships or academic research positions provided by any Korean institutions. Desirable candidates are
doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers in the fields of museum-related Korean studies. Candidates who are not focused on Korean studies will still be considered if their specialties pertain to Far East Asia.
This is a bilingual programme in which
proficiency in English is required and fluency in Korean is also a plus for participation. Recipients will be required to submit their final research papers by October 31, 2015.
The 2015 participants will be brought together to the National Museum of Korea in Seoul, allowing them to build up the museum's network for future museum generations and to enhance the quality of their research.
Applications to take part in the National Museum of Korea's 2015 Fellowship should be sent
by 31 March. For
