NEMO European Museum Conference 2024 ‘Can we talk? Museums facing polarisation’

Register by 20 October to join museum and cultural professionals from across Europe for discussions on how museums can foster dialogue, promote understanding, unite communities and strengthen democracies. NEMO - the Network of European Museum Organisations’ European Museum Conference 2024: ‘Can we talk? Museums facing polarisation’ takes place from 10 to 12 November 2024 in Sibiu, Romania.
The NEMO European Museum Conference will provide a platform for museum and cultural professionals to come together and explore the important role museums can play in today’s challenged democracies. As the world gets increasingly polarised, museums are in a unique position to act as safe spaces for dialogue, debate, and understanding.
Key themes include:
- Museums' role in tackling polarisation
- Navigating political pressures
- Empowering underrepresented groups
In addition to discussions and panels, the conference programme will offer a range of interactive and engaging activities, including:
- Participatory sessions
- Hands-on workshops
- Networking opportunities
- Cultural tours in Sibiu
NEMO's European Museum Conference 2024 is co-organised together with the National Network of Romanian Museums, the ASTRA Museum and thanks to co-funding by the European Union.
