New Issue of CECA's Good Practices in Museum Education

CECA Best Practice 4 The International Committee for Education and Cultural Action (CECA), one of the international committees of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has recently published the fourth issue of its series related to the CECA Best Practice Award. Entitled Best Practice 4: A tool to improve museum education internationally and edited by Emma Nardi and Cinzia Angelini, the volume is available through ICOM's website. Launched in 2012 with the main goal to create a common language among CECA members, the Best Practice Award has gradually become a consolidated opportunity that CECA offers to members from all over the world every year. The resulting publication includes the five projects that obtained the award as well as others that received commendation and publication or which were considered good for publication. The 16 projects featured in the publication come from a wide range of countries in Asia, Europe and America, including France, Italy, Korea, Spain and the UK. Two of the articles refer to the National Hangeul Museum, Korea, an ASEMUS member. Experiences featured in the CECA Best Practice 4 collection are grouped under three major themes: children and family groups; youth; and adults. Each group of articles includes internal variety, with the 'Adults' section comprising both projects carried out within museum facilities and those implemented by museum professionals in other venues, including prisons.
