Oz Fest | biggest Australian cultural festival in India

None

From October 2012 - February 2013, the Australian Government joins with 24 government, business, institutional and production partners to present Oz Fest - the biggest Australian cultural festival ever staged in India.

There is no more important a challenge in the Australia-India relationship than to bridge the imaginations of our two communities. It’s important that we get to know each other better.

To build partnerships we need to connect. We need to forge new networks in the arts, in business, in education, in science and research, and in all the other nooks and crannies of community life.

Culture is an essential connecting thread: one which has a vital and humanising role to play in a shared future. Indians have seen our cricketers on television and our beaches in Bollywood films. Now they will get to experience the vibrancy and innovation of Australia’s contemporary culture.

We hope that through Oz Fest, Indians will come to understand more about Australia and our nation’s story — our cultural diversity, our creativity, our optimism, and our outward-looking horizons.

Check out the Oz Fest India website for all details of the programme.

Events run 16 October 2012 - 5 February 2013
