Perform Europe Live: performing arts online selection

Perform Europe Live, running until June 2022, presents 19 partnerships that tour 27 Creative Europe countries and the UK, both on-site and virtually. The programme offers more than 250 presentations of over 45 artistic works by established and up-and-coming artists, hosted by a diverse group of presenters.

This is the testing phase of Perform Europe, an 18-month pilot scheme funded by the European Commission, that explores how to develop and test new ways of touring and presenting across borders in a fair, inclusive, and sustainable way.

Here is a list of projects, from April until June, that can be viewed online. Each project involves a collaboration of partners across Europe and the UK. Refer to the full programme for up-to-date details on tickets and performance times.

Embodied Temporalities: A research, archiving, exhibition, and performance partnership under the artistic direction of Madhumita Nandi, which gives visibility to artistic works of minorities and contemporary issues. 22 April and 6 June
Performing Futures: These two performances include an augmented reality tour of a possible future and an online show in which people from different countries discuss what should go into a time capsule to be opened in 150 years. 23 April, early May and 20 June
BARK: A poetic, spectacular, and thought-provoking contemporary circus performance for a forest, an audience, and five performing artists. The show is site-specific and is adapted to each forest. 24 April
WOODS: A large-scale open air live performance that calls for environmental awareness. It brings together dance, live performance, and visual arts to create unique landscapes in the city. 8 May
SlowMo: An outdoor dance work by Ireland-based company Instant Dissidence, traveling from Cloughjordan Ecovillage (Ireland) by land and sea to destinations in Cyprus, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, and the UK. 31 May
Step by Step – Wheel by wheel: This project gives more visibility to artists with disabilities, who today are underrepresented both on and behind the stage. 11 June
IIAN Making Waves: Two inclusive artistic works for children and young people: a dance performance for blind and partially sighted children; and a film for neurodivergent and neurotypical teenagers. 23–24 June and 26 June

Perform Europe is funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and co-managed by a Consortium of 5 organisations: IETM – International network for contemporary performing arts, the European Festivals Association (EFA), Circostrada, EDN – European Dancehouse Network, and IDEA Consult.
