Resilient cultural heritage: Opportunities for cooperation between Europe and Southeast Asia

The online talk ‘European partnership for resilient cultural heritage: Opportunities for cooperation between Europe and Southeast Asia’, taking place on 27 May 2025, brings together expert speakers to explore ways Europe and Southeast Asia can cooperate in the nexus of cultural heritage and climate change.

This talk will present new perspectives of collaboration between Europe and Southeast Asia offered by the future European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage (RCH). The aim of the RCH is twofold: to strengthen the means of preserving cultural heritage and to contribute to climate neutrality in other sectors by promoting traditional and innovative practices, techniques, and materials resulting from cultural heritage research.

It represents a major and innovative opportunity to develop, in a holistic and strategic approach, robust basic and applied research at the intersection of climate change and cultural heritage, and to focus on the research, policy and practice collaboration to respond to the global challenge posed by climate change.

The event brings together Élodie Cazenave, Chulamanee Chartsuwan and Fauzy Ismail.
