'Electric Fields: Surrealism and beyond' exhibition of works from the collection of the Centre Pompidou opens at the Power Station of Art in Shanghai and runs 16 December 2012 - 15 March 2013. This exhibition is organized by the Power Station of Art in collaboration with the Pompidou Centre in Paris. It consists of six chapters, guided by a series of surrealist masterpieces for each of the chapters. Each of the masterpieces represents a theme and defines the key elements for each chapter, followed by other art works. For each chapter, there will be at least one video installation, a painting, a piece of sculpture, a photographic work, an architectural model as well as a manuscript.
Artists: Gursky Andreas, Chéri Samba, Boltanski Christian, Spoerri Daniel, Ruscha Edward, Stella Frank, Gudmundsson Gudmundur, Huang Yongping, Dubuffet Jean, Duchamp Marcel, Kippenberger Martin, Rotella Mimmo, Guston Philip, Pettibon Raymond, René Magritte, Polke Sigmar, Wang Du The new exhibit, "Electric Fields: Surrealism and Beyond - La Collection du Centre Pompidou" is the first time the French gallery has worked with a public art museum in China.
