In a first of its kind in Newcastle, shOUT Film Festival will be held between 15-17 May 2012 in NSW, Australia. The inaugural edition of the festival showcases 3 evenings of films highlighting and celebrating sexual diversities. The aim of the festival is to create awareness around progressive rights of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) individuals in Australia, as well as bring about a change of attitudes that lead to homophobia, transphobia and intersex-phobia in workplaces, schools, public and even at home. The festival is being organized in conjunction with International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia celebrations across Newcastle and will also include speakers, special guests and performances each night. The event would take place at Tower Cinemas, Newcastle and you can check its schedule here.
