None 05f2f6d68b5e9bd5731ee5be2f9212cfIndia Theatre Forum has launched the first SMART - Strategic Management in the Art of Theatre - training programme. With the support of the Goethe Institut, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other partners, the first SMART residential workshop is organised in Bangalore this month from January 17 - 26 2015.

Following the open call for applications in 2014, the organisers were overwhelmed by the number of applications and interest from the theatre community in India for the first SMART programme.

There are three phases to the programme. The entire course covers a 6.5 month period, with two intensive residential periods at the beginning and end.

Topics covered in the course include Core Values, Group Sustainability, Audience Building, Communications, Financial Management, Fundraising, Administration. Participants will also be actively working with facilitators and mentors right from the beginning to each create a strategic plan that speaks to their individual theatre realities.
