Tell Me Tell Me | Australian and Korean Art 1976-2011

None This exhibition is a first-time collaboration between the MCA in Sydney and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul (NMOCA), and celebrates the 2011 Australian-Korean Year of Friendship. By showcasing artworks from both museums' collections, the exhibition highlights the ongoing relationship between the two countries. Tell Me Tell Me, explores conceptual and new media art by over 40 artists, that were created between 1976 and 2011. 1976 was chosen as the symbolic year when Nam June Paik traveled to the Sydney Biennale with a group of artists to introduce Korean art in Australia. This exhibition is jointly curated by MCA Curator Glenn Barkley and NMOCA Curator Inhye Kim. It opens on June 17 at the National Art School Gallery, Darlinghurst and will later travel to the NMOCA in Seoul where it will be exhibited from 8 November 2011 to 19 February 2012.
