At TPAM on February 13-14 the first plenary gathering to officially establish the new network membership organisation for performing arts professionals - Open Network for Performing Arts Management ON-PAM - will be held. This international open network aims to enable performing arts professionals to exchange information and ideas that are continuously renewed and to develop and connect their activities.About TPAM
Launched as “Tokyo Performing Arts Market” in 1995. As the name “Market” indicates, its objective was to promote trading of performing arts works. However, in 2005, it started to focus more on networking of professionals engaging in contemporary performing arts. In 2011, it moved to Yokohama, changed the name from “Market” to “Meeting” and became “Performing Arts Meeting in Yokohama.” Through showing programs and networking programs that take place across the diverse cultural facilities in an walkable area in Yokohama, we aim to make it function as an international platform for information exchange, mutual learning, discussion and exchange.
Professionals that work as curator, director, producer, programmer, facilitator and in many other styles of work not only introduce works of art but also promote and renew infrastructures and systems. Moreover, they also create the concepts of “art” and “culture” and their meanings. TPAM is an international platform for stimulating practices and communication of performing arts professionals. We anticipate participants who share interest in and passion for creation, promotion, development, dissemination, exchange, critique and study of contemporary performing arts.
