UK | Tagore Festival
A week long festival at Dartington, Devon celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of the visionary poet Rabindranath Tagore, the first Asian to receive the Nobel Prize, in 1913, for his book of poems Gitanjali. The Tagore Festival will be a feast for heart and mind, featuring inspirational speakers, musical delights and many creative and engaging moments. A people's festival, as Tagore was a people's poet, it will be a rich week of poetry, dance, music, film, workshops, networking, wonderful food and craft stalls. A celebration of Indo-British relationships, exploring how we have enriched each other's cultures in the arts, sciences and enterprise, it is also a great opportunity to explore the relevance of Tagore's vision in the 21st century.
